I have a lot of health problems which make me depressed. I love a good laugh though. I like to look for the good in people and always give people the benefit of the doubt. I love a good meal and conversation and sharing it with family and friends whether it's eating out or around someone table. On Gather, I'm Looking For ...: Other people who share my love of writing poetry and fiction. Interests Favorite Music, Artists, Genres: I love Hard Rock music. Great White, Led Zeppelin, Creed, Def Leppard. I would like to add Sarah McLachan to the list. I recently discovered her music and just fell in love with her songs. Favorite Books, Writers, Genres: The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter, and anything by Anne Rice. I am also a big history fan and love reading about ancient Greece and Rome, Medival European history through the Industrial Revolution. I am a lover of the French Revolution!, Anne Rice, Tolkien and also Virginia Woolf. As for poetry, Emily Dickinson and Edna St. Vincent Millay. Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres: There are so many! Dr. Zhivago comes to mind and almost anything with Steve McQueen in it. All the Disney classic movie length cartoons. Of late I would say Lord of The Rings and all the Harry Potter movies. Last but not least many of Johnny Depp's films like Sleepy Hollow and The Libertine to name a few. Favorite TV Shows, Actors: I don't watch a lot of TV. Only shows on Animal Planet like "Meerkat Manor". My husband got me hooked on "DC Cab" on The Discovery Channel which I also enjoy. Interests and Activities: Writing poetry and fiction. E-mailing family and friends and also writing letters. Doing crafts and cooking., Gather, crafts, baking, reading, watching movies. Affiliations Political Affiliation: Liberal Democrat Religious Affiliation: Islam--I converted in 1984. Employers: I haven't worked much in my life. I'm guess I'm what you call a Homemaker, but I did a three month stint in a factory before I started college just after high school and then had a few short spurts at a couple of places. The only job I had that I really liked and enjoyed was when I worked part-time at a library while I was in college. Colleges: Pasadena City College--1974 through 1979. I took the long way out. Cal State Los Angeles University--1979-1981. I received my Bachelors in Arts in History. I started Post Graduate work, but dropped out to get married.
